Rathyatra is a famous Chariot festival of Orissa, Its history is very old, Prabhu Shri Jaggannath incarnation of Lord Krishna is very popular among oriya people and culture. We consider lord jagannnath as our deity who is there for poor helpless people and saviour of people and mankind. Lord Jaggannath is accompanies by sister Subhadra and Lord Balram who is considered Lord Vishnu.All three of the deities are cart pulled by the followers and devotees all across the world. The Chariot is pulles all across the world in same day. Many oriya people who are staying abroad, but they somehow get a glance of famous Rathyatra in their same city/location observed by many oriya people groups or association. It is obsereved in America, London, England, Japan, France and many countries. Its observed in small cities and towns other than orissa, like Delhi, Bangalore, and Kolkata. In Delhi it is observed in Jagannath Temple, Green Park, Hauz Khas, and in Bangalore its observed in Jagannath Temple, Agra. Here people are thrilled and enjoy the cart pulling festival with Pride and devotion. Wish this festival joy remains in every heart and soul.
